Case Study:

Anchor Brewhouse, SE1

Client

Ashby Building Surveyors

Location

Tower Bridge

Contract Value

£322k

Project Date

Dec 2013

This Grade II listed building next to Tower Bridge was bought by John Courage in 1787 and was converted into apartments during the late 1980s.

We carried out full external redecorations, replaced several small pitched roofs using natural Welsh slate and replaced the clear dome located at the top of the chimney stack.

The river elevation requires scaffolding to be situated on the river bed because water covers the base of the building during high tide. We designed the scaffolding for the project accordingly.
